RACE DAY-September 17 2011 Zhuhai International Circuit Pan Delta Final Rounds

Race 1 was insane. Had a great start and was right behind the Yes Yamaha. He started pulling away and I was also pulling away from the rest of the field. Managed a 1:39 flat but he did a 1:38.2 so it seems I was in a race by myself. Less than 2 laps remaining on the straightaway I topped out at 265km when I went to brake for turn one…there was oil on the track with one rider already down, I went down with no brakes and slid at least 220 feet across the concrete, over the rumble-strip, through the grass and into the gravel trap. I was shaken but ok. Bike was still on top of me but as luck would have it, a slight concussion and broken right finger and knuckle was the extent of the injuries. 2 more guys crashed into turn one and they red flagged the race. I still got credit for 2nd place as they went back a lap for the final results. Finger is destroyed and throbbing right now, my new leathers defiantly protected my body but they are messed up now. The magnesium covers over my shoulder is concaved and there is a huge hole in the elbow. Now I am trying to figure out if my bike is still okay for tomorrow’s race. I need to get some parts because the crash damaged the engine cover. UPDATE: Parts from Kawasaki were put on a ferry to Macau and my boss at BG was nice enough to go to Macau late night to get them. Bike should be ready for Sunday’s 2nd race. Pretty extensive damage for just a lowside
